City Learning Conference
The Brief
Our brief was to provide an audio visual setup that matched the technological focus of the conference. The design was to incorporate lighting, sound and projection and needed to have a modern contemporary feel.
The Solution
The brief given to Hi-Lights was to provide an AV setup that matched the technological focus of the conference. In response to this, Hi-Lights decided to provide three Sanyo XF 60 projectors, which we hold in hire stock, the projectors feature high output brightness coupled with a very fast response time, making them ideal for displaying fast moving video clips or live camera feeds. Hi-Lights decision to use these units were further ratified by the twin lamp feature, making them ideal for shows where high brightness is required, yet the budget is not present for backup projectors.
To control the projectors Hi-Lights provided three Centrix seamless switchers allowing independent images to be shown on each screen. Extensive video processing equipment allowed our video operator to display any image or video clip on any individual projector or on all three. Hi-lights also supplied an array of input equipment to cope with any last minute requests from speakers, from Windows and Mac based computers, through DVD and Betcam SP players, and even a VHS player just in case.
An intelligent lighting rig was installed to add a sense of atmosphere into the room; this complemented the in house conventional rig which was used to light the stage. We coloured the room with the conference colours which transformed the room from just a conference room into a place that was part of the event.
Sound was also handled by our team, using the in house equipment provided by the Baltic and supplemented by equipment brought in from our extensive stock.
Organiser, Roger Neilson said “This was our first National Conference and we had determined that the whole atmosphere and feel had to be right. Hi-Lights were superb in the planning, creative input and entirely professional manner in which they worked alongside us. Lighting, sound, projection and video drew significant praise from a very ICT aware audience.”
